The National Energy Regulatory Council by Resolution No. O3-325
on Designation of the Transmission System Operator and Issue of the
Electricity Transmission Licence as of August 27, 2013, after a detailed
analysis of the transmission system operator AB LITGRID documents and
all related information (Certification document No O5-288
of the Legal Division and Electricity Division of the Electricity and
Gas Department of the Commission as of 26 August 2013) and taking into
account the opinion of the European Commission decided to:
• state that unbundling of the transmission activity by LITGRID AB
complies with the provisions of Article 15, Paragraph 8 and Article 53,
Paragraphs 2, 3 and 6 of the Law and that LITGRID AB may be certified as
the Transmission System Operator;
• issue permanent electricity transmission licence for LITGRID AB.
The Commission notified the European Commission
about the final decision on September 6, 2013. The information about the
designation of transmission system operator LITGRID AB was published in
the Official Journal of the European Union C 312 on October 26, 2013.
The Commission, in accordance with the Law on
Electricity provisions of Article 26 will continue to regularly monitor
and supervise designated transmission system operator, in order its
activities to be in accordance with the provisions of Law on Electricity
regarding independence of transmission system operator and unbundling
transmission activities from generation and supply.
