In 2015, the number of the power plants using the renewable energy resources reached 2 355, among these 87.9 percent were the solar power plants, 4.2 – the hydro power plants, 6.2 – the wind power plants. The biogas and biofuel power plants covered an insignificant share in the market structure – 1.7 percent.
The quantity of electricity produced in 2015 by using the renewable energy resources equaled 1 611 GWh: the biggest quantity of electricity was produced in the wind power plants – 50.1 percent, and in the hydro power plants – 21.4 percent. The quantity of electricity produced in the biofuel power plants and in the biogas power plants constituted 23.9 percent, in the solar power plants – 4.6 percent.
In 2015, the installed capacity of the power plants producing and supplying to the networks the energy produced from the renewable energy resources reached 723.4 MW: the installed capacity of the solar power plants was 69.6 MW, the wind power plants – 435.2 MW, the hydro power plants – 127.9 MW, the biofuel power plants – 64.1 MW, of the biogas power plants – 26.7 MW. The biggest share in the market structure of the total installed capacity was held by the wind power plants – 60.2 percent, the smallest – by the biogas power plants (3.7 percent).
