On 31 May 2021, the National Energy Regulatory Council (hereinafter – Council) approved AB Amber Grid natural gas transmission services tariffs that will come into effect from 1st of January 2022.

Council, in order to ensure competition between natural gas import sources, as well as to promote competition between natural gas suppliers and not to create additional market barriers to the use of LNG terminal gas, based on FINESTLAT common natural gas transmission prices, are set at the entry points of the common price zone, set 82.11%. the proportion of cost allocation to entry points and 17.89 percent. proportion to the exit points.
Considering the results of the public consultation and with a view to facilitating access of the market participants to Lithuania's Klaipėda liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal, and thus increase competitive pressure on gas market prices, the Council approved a 75% discount on the price of transmission services at the entry point in Klaipėda.
In order to increase the simplicity and flexibility of the use of the transmission system, and to promote the development of the regional gas market, the transmission service prices at the entry points are harmonized with entry prices in the neighboring tariff area covering Latvia, Estonia and Finland.
2022 a new connection between Poland and Lithuania (GIPL or Santaka) will start operating. A new Santaka entry / exit point will appear in the natural gas transmission system, which will increase the transported natural gas flows, ensure an additional source of natural gas supply to Lithuania and connect the Lithuanian transmission system with the EU natural gas transmission system.
