The common technical requirements for the connection of the power park modules to the network have been approved

The Commission has approved the General Technical High-voltage Requirements developed by transmission system operator Litgrid AB, taking into account the requirements of the European Commission Regulation establishing a network code on requirements for grid connection of high voltage direct current systems and direct current-connected power park modules.

These requirements include frequency stability, reactive power and voltage requirements, network characteristics, and so on. They will be applied to new high-voltage power plants connected to the transmission network, ensuring reliable and safe operation of the transmission system. If the high-voltage power plant does not meet these requirements, the transmission system operator may refuse to connect it.

These requirements do not apply if the connected power plant voltage is lower than 110 kV and / or is located on islands whose energy system is not synchronously connected to the synchronous zone between mainland Europe, Great Britain, Northern Europe, Ireland and Northern Ireland or the Baltic.
