National Commission for Energy Control and Prices recently approved the new version of AB Amber Grid Rules for Access to the Natural Gas Transmission System which will be applied from 2 July 2018.
Most important change of this amendment is to further develop the implicit capacity allocation method, which allows to allocate capacity and gas product together at interconnection points by introducing not only day-ahead but also the within-day products. This method of capacity allocation is simpler for market participants and allows more effective gas trade in the market, as well as better integration of Baltic states region.
Also new version harmonize capacity booking deadlines with Latvian TSO, adjusts provisions related with contractual congestions, provides detailed description of the oversubscription and buy-back congestion management scheme and etc.
This and other amendments can be found in rules here.
