NCC approved TSOs’ proposal for amendment to include the upcoming BE-GB interconnector in the decision on capacity calculation regions

NCC with all NRAs amended the decision on the capacity calculation regions (CCRs) so as to reflect the introduction of a new interconnection between Great Britain and Belgium ("Nemo Link") in one of the already decided CCRs, namely the Channel CCR.

The CCRs were approved by the European Agency for Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) on 18 November 2016. This ACER decision divided Europe into 10 CCRs where the coordinated capacity calculation is applied. It means that within each capacity calculation region as the geographic area, TSOs have to calculate cross border capacity according to a common Capacity Calculation methodology. Baltic CCR includes 6 countries: Estonia, Latvia, Poland, Finland, Sweden and Lithuania.
