National Energy Regulatory Council (NERC) has approved „All TSOs’ of Baltic Capacity Calculation Region common provisions for regional operational security coordination (hereinafter –Methodology) in accordance with Articles 76 and 77 of the Commission Regulation (EU) 2017/1485 of 2 August 2017 (hereinafter – SOGL Regulation)“. The Methodology was prepared by LITGRID AB and other TSOs of Baltic Capacity Calculation Region (hereinafter – Baltic CCR).
The Proposal sets out a procedure for establishing a common regional action plan to ensure and facilitate secure operation of electricity transmission system both on regional and national levels. This Methodology obliges TSOs of Baltic CCR to take actions for cooperation regarding share of costs of remedial actions, coordination regarding security of electricity transmission system and appointment of regional security coordinator.
The Methodology provides general principles for the justification of the activation of remedial actions, taking into account objective criteria in both day-ahead and intraday timeframes. All the requirements presented in the Methodology are set up in accordance with the SOGL Regulation.
