National
Energy Regulatory Council (NERC) which participates in the activities of EU
Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER), informs that ACER on
22nd of December published decision on common rules for cross-border
participation in electricity capacity mechanisms.
These
rules enable electricity providers to contribute directly to resource adequacy
in other EU Member States, thus improving security of electricity supply while
decreasing costs for consumers.
Mandated
by the Clean Energy Package, these rules foster the integration and
harmonisation of the internal energy market, allowing the sharing of
electricity resources across European countries in the most efficient manner,
regardless of their location.
