The MoU concerning the process of the Synchronization of the Baltic States’ electricity system with the Continental Europe (CE) electricity system has been signed among Polish, Lithuanian, Latvian and Estonian national regulatory authorities (download here).

The objective of this MoU is to facilitate co-operation and coordination among the NRAs in order to ensure the implementation of the Synchronization,  realizing NRAs framework and necessary consultations with stakeholders on any other matters that arise in the scope of Synchronization.

On 2019 March the European Commission decided to grant 323 million euros for the first stage of the Baltic power grids' synchronization with the continental European system. 125 million Eur of this amount was granted for Lithuanian electricity system. All these measures will ensure reliable operation of the Baltic power systems, integrating them into European networks and synchronizing with them.
