National Energy Regulatory Council or the Regulator is an independent national regulatory authority (in the European Union law's sense) regulating activities of entities in the field of energy (electricity, renewable energy, gas, central heating), municipal waste management and water management and transportation.
The Regulator independently performs the functions transferred by law and within its competence independently adopts decisions and issues administrative acts which are binding to specific providers and users of public services.
