Litgrid, AB, breached the REMIT regulation

National Commission for Energy Control and Prices (NCC) constantly monitors an electricity wholesale market in accordance with Regulation (EU) No 1227/2011 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 25 October 2011 on wholesale energy market integrity and transparency (REMIT) and national laws. During 2014-2016 period NCC identified and received from market participants several reports regarding Lithuanian transmission system operator's Litgrid AB publication of urgent market messages (UMM). On its basis NCC initiated an internal investigation. NCC identified that Litgrid AB didn't comply with the REMIT disclosure time requirements while publishing UMM, therefore breached the REMIT's article 4. However, there wasn’t identified that such actions had negative economic or social impact on the market.

NCC has obliged the Litgrid AB no later than in 60 days to inform NCC about measures which could prevent the future REMIT breaches.
